I have been employed by the Caledonia School District since 1985. Positions have included H.S. Agriculture Teacher, 3rd Grade, and currently 5th-grade teacher. Before coming to Caledonia I taught Agriculture at Howard Lake-Waverly High School, Howard Lake, MN, plus accounting work at Beyer's Cement in Valley City, ND. In the earlier years of employment at Caledonia, I also worked a short time at Mabel-Canton H.S. Ag. Dept., and with the Fillmore County Extension Service.

I have a B.S. in Agricultural Education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities; and a Masters in Elementary Education, from Viterbo University, LaCrosse, WI.

I live with my spouse, Jonathan Pettit, on a small farm south of Rushford, MN where we raise Hereford cattle and Hereford hogs, "JonDor Herefords". Jonathan is a retired teacher and currently works as a substitute rural mail carrier, zoning administrator, farms, and serves on the local school board.  Children include, Josef, a 2014 graduate of Caledonia Area High School and student at the University of Minnesota -Twin Cities; Jane, a 2007 Caledonia H.S. graduate, financial advisor for Northwestern Mutual in Minot, North Dakota; Jane's spouse Kasey is a Staff Sergeant with the United States Air Force stationed at Minot Air Force Base; J.J., works for Fastenal, Business Development, J.J.'s spouse Kimberly, also works for Fastenal as manager of National Accounts Sourcing. J.J. and Kim live in Stockton, MN.   Jake is a surveyor for Westwood, Metro Area, and lives with wife Dana, Real Estate Agent in Dassel, MN.  Josie is the elementary principal, at "Eagle Creek Elementary", in Shakopee, MN.  She lives with husband David Koivisto in Shakopee, MN. Grandchildren are 
T.J., Charlie, Brock, Martin Koivisto; Addison, Ava, Breck Pettit; Jonathan III and Lucas Pettit.
