Dear Elementary Parents,

I wish that I could thank each of you in person for all of your support during distance learning. Our teachers and paraprofessionals could not have done it without your help along the way, especially with our younger students. We are so fortunate to have been able to deliver distance learning as successfully as we have. That’s a tribute to you, our students, our teachers and our paras. I truly believe that our teachers and paras should be used as the gold standard of delivery of distance learning at its best.

We are extremely excited to be going back to in person learning on Monday, January 18th. We will still be using all of the safety protocols as before. Students will be entering and exiting the building at the same locations that they used previously. Please drop off your children on main street in the designated areas. If you wish to walk your child to their designated spots, please park your car by the playground fences on main street. No one should be dropping off their children on West Grove Street. This is for our school busses.

Students must wear their masks at all times, other than at lunch and recess. This includes the school bus. Please remind your children to wear their masks on the bus. Our preference is for face masks rather than gators. Please send your child to school with clean face masks. We will be sending home another face mask with your child.

If your child is ill, please keep them at home. Please check our school website for further information on Covid-19 symptoms and close contacts. If we work together, we have a better chance of keeping all of our students in school.

Please send your children with a winter jacket, snow pants, mittens or gloves, and boots. We have ordered many new games, and equipment for recess to provide options for our children.

One of the benefits of distance learning was the cooperation of our parents in our children’s learning. It would be great to see this continue. Work with your child on their flashcards, so they can learn their addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts. Continue to have your child read to you at home. Their teachers can give you specifics depending on their grade level.

Thank you so much,

Mrs. Link
